I would like to have a way to issue a credit to a customer's file.

Example: Customer had missing item, order was late, etc..

I would like to enter an amount into the customers database entry so I can apply that credit next time they call.

There are two ways to handle a credit:
  • Issue loyalty points equal to the credit amount.  You can make a note in the customer record-customer entry window-that loyalty points were added as a credit.
  • Issue a gift card for the same amount as the credit. The gift card can be used as payment on a future order.

Thanks Gary. I don't use loyalty points so I'll have to dig into that.

As for gift cards, yes that would work and I did that a few times when the custom was in the store to hand it to them.

I was looking for something that can be entered to the database over the phone. I really don't want to start snail mailing gift cards (if custom has a problem) if I don't have to.
